Ensuring confidence that your business continuity solution continually meets business needs and will work when needed

Overview

Business Continuity (BC) refers to processes and procedures designed to allow an organisation to recover from a major incident (within business defined parameters) that could otherwise cripple the business. It can be considered part of risk management and good business practice as it seeks to mitigate the risk of disruption, minimise the impact of and return the business to full functionality after a major incident.

The planning and plan testing that precedes a major incident ensures that the business is prepared for the major incident and can enact the recovery procedures should they are ever needed.

Like any business process, the effectiveness of the BC programme should be reviewed regularly to ensure that it maintains relevance in an ever changing environment.
