The award is a mark of Thomas Duryea’s success as ANZ’s leading VMware Virtualisation Solution Provider.

7th March 2008 - Thomas Duryea Achieves VMware Premier Partner Status
In recognition of Thomas Duryea Consulting’s advanced virtualization practices and high-quality consulting services, the national IT infrastructure solutions provider has been awarded VMware Australia’s Premier Partner Status. This is the highest level within the VMware VIP Reseller Program. As part of this recognition, Thomas Duryea will have a greater level of access to VMware’s own professional services IP which aims to ensure best practice delivery of virtual infrastructure engagements.
“The Premier Enterprise level is designed to recognise resellers investing in VMware expertise at the highest levels”, said David Blackman, Director, Partner Organisation, VMware Australia and New Zealand. “It is awarded to Partners who have made a commitment to invest in the VMware virtualization partnership through dedicated technical, sales and support resources, and have demonstrated this consistently over time. Through this association, VMware rewards these Partners with the highest level of support and benefits.”
Last year Thomas Duryea was awarded the title of ‘VMware Market Maker of the Year’ for the ANZ region. “Along with their significant sales achievements, Thomas Duryea’s strong technical understanding of VMware’s virtualization technology and their investment in VMware Certified Professionals Program, positions them as one of the leaders in the provision of virtualization services and solutions in the local market”, Blackman said.
Stan Sotiropoulos, Practice Manager of Data Centre Solutions, Thomas Duryea Consulting, said “To gain this level of recognition, we have maintained a focus on training and certification, and continued to deliver quality VMware engagements throughout Australia. Achieving Premier Partner Status is a welcome acknowledgement of the investment we have made in VMware virtualization products and technologies. Thomas Duryea aims to have the highest level of accreditation possible with selected vendor partners.”
Sotiropoulos said, “The VMware VIP reseller program is different from other programs in that it emphasizes technical qualifications, not quotas. It was well worth the investment, which includes having over one quarter of all Thomas Duryea’s technical staff certified on VMware virtualization products. There are additional marketing opportunities, access to their IP, and the same support tools as the internal technical people at VMware.”
Being recognised as a Premier Partner with VMware in Australia, will provide customers with greater confidence of Thomas Duryea’s technical knowledge and service excellence in the virtualization market.
“When we combine this with our certifications in the storage and data management segments, customers can have an unparalleled degree of confidence in the skills Thomas Duryea bring to help customers create the most appropriate technology solution for their environment”, Sotiropoulos said.
Gartner predicts that the total number of virtual machines deployed globally is expected to grow from 540,000 at the end of 2006 to more than 4 million by 2009. “And VMware’s virtualization technology is the foundation of our virtual practise for services and solution to take advantage of this opportunity. Many of our customers are focussed on delivering virtualized solutions into their organisations, and virtualization continues to be a key growth area for our business”, said Sotiropoulos.
“We are seeing customers who virtualize their IT infrastructure achieve Return on Investment (ROI) in as little as seven months. The savings across both budget and resourcing that virtualization enables, through improved management of servers and IT infrastructure, also complements the growing demand for ‘green’ computing solutions in Australia. Becoming a Premier Partner with VMware will enable Thomas Duryea to meet these market opportunities with the most robust resources and skills available.”
